System/Library/Extensions/ZoomAudioDevice.kext file
I deleted it and have updated since, but figured better safe than sorry!Ĭhecking to see if the Zoom process is running. I got an invite from zoom a while back, maybe 4-5 weeks for video sharing.

But is bundled in free as a part of Microsoft 365 I believe, so financially makes sense.
Teams is not good enough as a vc client, at best it’s a clunky attempt to clone slack by ms. Here’s to hoping MS and others level up their game. But it leaps and bounds better than any other market offering, I’d probably say google’s is closeish. They have released a multitude of patches fixing flaws and are paying of a lot of bounties since to white hat hackers. Their PR is shitty and they could have handled all their negative press better. I think our TAM was saying zoom was averaging around 10 million new users a day and now has gone up to 250 million since the start of March. My org are re-reviewing zoom (since the negative press )as we moved from vidyo to them in 2017. It’s been a big disruptor in the av market for quiet few years actually. It’s a bit disingenuous to say it’s got ‘hip’ since covid-19. Whilst I’m not defending zoom, to the points above zoom have been lapse with security. Users/macc/Library/Saved Application State/us. HOW TO UNINSTALL GOTOMEETING ON MAC UPDATE
I had an old version of Zoom installed - it kept asking me to approve update and even after allowing it (several times!) it did not update, so I didn't even have the option to File > Uninstall, and had to manually remove files.īut after deleting most items I saw this thread, downloaded your script, and it found/deleted some extra cruft:
I tried joining from the website in an incognito window but it gives 403.ĭo you have any idea how the may be storing my data that I can’t get a clean reinstall? My work meetings are on Zoom and this thing is driving me crazy.

It is obviously keeping my previous location somewhere because whenever I install the app, it already has my name in the join meeting page.
The problem is that I once tried to join Zoom from a country that they don’t offer service to, and now that I want to join from Canada it keeps giving me error 3078. I have tried Zoom’s uninstaller, your script, manually searching for zoom and removing everything, deleting browser cookies and saved data, I noticed that every time I delete Zoom from Library/Mobile Documents it comes back again so I turned off Zoom sharing data to iCloud on my other devices and once it didn’t work out I uninstalled Zoom on other devices, though that didn’t work either. I put the script up on Github with the hope that others out there will find it helpful. But if you're paranoid and you want Zoom to be completely removed, or if you manage a fleet of macOS devices for your organization like I do and you want to push a policy using your MDM provider to automate the removal of Zoom from all your devices, this will help. If you use their uninstaller you should be fine. I reviewed their installer package to see everything they do with their scripting to install Zoom, and I created my own script that removed everything their installer does.ĭo you need this? No.
HOW TO UNINSTALL GOTOMEETING ON MAC SOFTWARE
Factor in that in 2019 Zoom installed a web server that persisted when you uninstalled the software that allowed any website to reinstall Zoom silently and activate your camera/microphone using a bit of javascript, all without your permission, and I had little trust in their application less then a year later. Zoom provides an uninstaller built into their app, but that's not something that can be accessed remotely to ensure Zoom is uninstalled from every employee's computer. I work for a small startup, and like many other organizations right now (Google last week, and SpaceX the week prior), we decided to ban the Zoom Desktop application from our work computers.
